Book Review: The Four Teresas

The Catholic Company
Oh dear. I have had this book since June and am only just now getting around to my review. This is in no way a reflection of the book. Rather, it’s a reflection of the craziness that is my life.

I really did enjoy The Four Teresas by Gina Loehr.  For one thing it was all about some of my favorite saints– St. Therese, the Little Flower, St. Teresa of Avila, and Blessed Mother Teresa. I didn’t know much about Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein), but I really enjoyed reading about her. You wouldn’t think that these four amazing women, all from different times and places, had much in common other than their names and their Catholic faith, but you would be surprised. All four were able to do amazing things for God.

This book explores how each of these fabulous women of God live out the Great Commandment, loving the Lord God with all their heart  and all their mind  and all their strength, and loving their neighbors as themselves. What I really like about this book is that it isn’t just biography or just theology. It has some real practical advice putting the lessons they learned into practice in your own life. I would highly recommend this book for any mom looking for inspiration.
