Repairing the Rainbow Bridge

Once, there was a child who lived with the angels and longed to go to earth…

So begins one of the most well-loved of Waldorf traditions, the Rainbow Bridge story.

My babies just turned two and are hardly in a position to appreciate a fairy tale written just for them. All they know of birthdays is that we sing songs and they get cake.

They especially like the cake.

But as I meditated on their birthday and how they came to be, the Rainbow Bridge story didn’t ring true, at least not as written.

Thanksgiving, birthdays, and other updates

Oh my goodness! As I said a week or so ago, I’ve been feeling very introspective and not very much like writing. Now I feel like I have so much to say, I’m going to explode!

I’m sorry there was no Waldorf Wednesday last week. We were up early packing and then drove from Pittsburgh to Lancaster to spend Thanksgiving with family. By the time I had gone to the gym, packed, and finished tidying the house there was just no time to put up the link-up, and there’s no internet on the road. But we’ll definitely be back next week, and I hope you’ll all link up double!

Toddler Twins

It’s hard to believe these sweet little babies are about to turn two!

Here they are, “helping” each other with the sweaters that Grandma knit them.

I actually think they were more interested in the buttons than in each other!

A kiss from sweet Matthew to suspicious Molly.

And Molly returns the favor with a great big hug!

These twins have been such an incredible blessing in my life. I can’t describe how amazing it is to see the two of them growing up side by side.

A Month of Gratitude: Day One

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)

Tonight, as I have one sleeping on my left side and one on my right, I am thankful for my two growing thriving babies.

Monster Baby!

Wordless Wednesday: Double trouble!

Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day!

OK, it was yesterday.

Also, I am very meh about the whole “let’s celebrate pirates” thing because they are thieves with often questionable personal hygiene habits.

Still, if all pirates were as cute as this, I might have to reconsider my position.

Argh! I’ve got the map!

Permission to climb aboard the mama!

Oooh! Treasure!

I’ve found more booty!

There is no treasure like a book…
