Celebrating family culture and peaceful days

From my notebook…

Five little chickadees sitting on the door.
Hold up hand.
One flew away and then there were four.
Put down one finger at a time.
Four little chickadees sitting on a tree.
One flew away and then there were three.
Three little chickadees looking at you.
One flew away and then there were two.
Two little chickadees sitting in the sun.
One flew away and then there was one.
One little chickadee sitting all alone.
He flew away and then there was none!

A Classic Nursery Rhyme…

Two little blackbirds sitting on a hill
(Make fists with thumbs straight up for “birds”)

One named Jack.
(Wiggle one thumb)

One named Jill.
(Wiggle other thumb)

Fly away Jack!
(Move hand behind back)

Fly away Jill!
(Move other hand behind back)

Come back Jack!
(Bring hand back in front)

Come back Jill!
(Bring other hand back)

This can be sung to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star if you repeat the first lines again at the end.

Paint Palettes

Cut a “paint palette” shape from some heavy cardboard. Load it up with different colored paints and let your little artist go to town!
