Woodie Guthrie’s New Year Resolutions, 1942
I’ve been putting off writing my resolutions. Actually, that’s not entirely true. I’ve been putting off making the time to write out my resolutions. Although to be fair, part of what’s been taking up my time is that I’ve actually already started to live out some of my resolutions, so I guess it’s probably not a bad thing.
Anyway, here we go…
Spiritually, I would like to…
~ Draw closer to God, especially taking delight in finding joy in being a daughter of the King.
~ Return to my Catholic roots.
~ Celebrate the feasts and festivals of the church, passing on this tradition to my children.
~ Maintain a Sabbath.
As a wife, I would like to…
~ Help make my husband’s life easier so he can do his job.
~ Remember to say “I love you” every day.
As a mother, I would like to…
~ Master my anger and seek to keep a “meek and quiet spirit” in my home.
~ Work on “holding the space”.
~ Deepen my individual relationships with each of my children.
As a homemaker, I would like to…
~ Switch to whole foods.
~ Get a handle on my cleaning schedule.
~ Maintain my values of natural, sustainable, simple living in my home.
As a homeschooler, I would like to…
~ Use more Waldorf education techniques.
~ Maintain a more regular schedule.
As a blogger, I would like to…
~ Write with more regularity.
~ Do some product reviews and giveaways.
~ Write at least one new ebook this year.
~ Be sure the content of my blog supports its goals and purpose.
As a ministry, I would like to…
~ Practice hospitality.
~ View my blog as a means to minister to other homeschooling mothers.
For my health, I would like to…
~ Lose my last 20 pounds by the time I turn 40 in August.
~ Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
That seems like a lot of goals! I’m going to look at breaking these down into steps over the next few weeks so I have a bit of a plan.
What are your goals this new year?
